Bissell Vac and Steam Machine Review and Giveaway

I have hard floors downstairs which I love.  They are much more practical than carpet with 2 mucky boys and a dog. Over the past 8 years I have tried all sorts of ways to keep them clean and I think I have finally found the product that does that for me. It is the  Bissell Vac and Steam Machine .  This amazing suel action machine vacuums and steam cleans either independently or at the same time.  It means that I have done away with my vacuum and steam cleaner downstairs (which I gave to my brother in law). What I like: You can either vacuum or steam clean or do both It is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre The handle is adjustable great for a home with people of different heights and for getting the kids involved. You need no chemicals The pads are washable and reusable It comes with a two year guarantee It warms up fast (within 30 seconds) so no long wait to start cleaning It costs under £100 It is space saving.  No need for a separate vacuum,...

Cleaning Football Boots - HELP

Most Sundays my boys play football and this is what their boots come home looking like: Now I need some advice and help about cleaning said boots.  Normally MadDad and the boys would leave their boots by the back door to dry and then they loose mud is banged off them. As we tend not to get newspapers, I have encouraged them to take some paper of the Ikea roll and use that to put their boots on, but......... The boots will often stay there until I clean them. MadDad will clean them under duress, but his idea of cleaning them is using baby wipes and these are not something I buy anymore as the boys are not in need of them and part of me doesn't want to buy them just to clean football boots. During the summer and Spring, we would give the boys a bowl of soapy water and a brush and let them lose in the garden cleaning their own, but it was so cold this weekend that even though Maxi was wearing his baselayer set from M & M Direct ...

I love my Shredder

Recently we were sent a fab shredder from Fellows to review.  The model we were sent was the Fellows Powershred DS1  which retail at around £90.00 I have to admit I thought that £ 9 for a  shredder  was a LOT of money, however, I think I may have been converted. Firstly this shredder is super fast, doesn't get hot and stop like my old one and makes me feel safe and secure.  It also does all the following: Shreds up to x11 A4 sheets at a time into 3.9x35 mm confetti-like pieces (Higher security - level 3) SafeSense Technology shuts off shredder when hands are too close to the machine 18 litre bin holds up to 200 sheets Shreds paper, staples and credit cards 2-year full warranty/ 5-year cutter warranty The  shredder  sits in our  study  under my desk and is used pretty much on a daily basis and once the bin is full we bag up the screddings. We have also been supplying our friends th...

Getting and keeping my laminate floors clean - Part One

When we moved in to our house we decided to put in the best quality laminate floors we could afford for the whole of the ground floor.  We chose this for the main reason that we had children and didn't want carpet. All I could think of was toilet training, spillages, food and mud.  It has taken me a good couple of years to find the perfect routine for keeping my ground floor clean and dust free. Firstly let me introduce you to the Morphy Richards  Supervac, 2-in-1 Cordless Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner , or the Supervac as I call it. I have been using this in my house for over six months and it is in use each day and every day and it is blooming fantastic.  Initially I thought it was a little expensive at £119.99, however, it is worth its weight in gold. The supervac is a bag-less, cordless hand held vacuum. You can use it as an upright cordless vacuum on all floor types or as a handheld.  It ...
